He has slid down the pecking order when it comes to India’s new-ball attack which is quite surprising because till not too long ago Bhuvneshwar Kumar was cert in the line-up. Right now however the top three choices for the Test team are Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Shami. However, when Bumrah’s injury ruled him out of the squad to play South Africa it was reckoned that Bhuvneshwar would be his replacement. The selectors however have gone in for Umesh Yadav who is of course very much part of the quintet of fast bowlers who have contributed so much to India’s success over the past few years.
