Blues midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin paid a visit to pupils at St Aloysius Catholic Primary School in Huyton to mark the recent launch of Premier League Primary Stars, the Premier League’s new national curriculum-linked education programme.
Primary Stars uses the appeal of the Premier League and professional football clubs to inspire children to learn, be active and develop important life skills.
Schneiderlin joined pupils and teachers for a Premier League Primary Stars PE session delivered by Everton in the Community, which involved a game of dodgeball with the group of 10 to 11-year-olds.
The Frenchman also helped launch the Premier League Primary Stars Kit and Equipment scheme. Teachers can apply for the chance to receive free football strips or equipment for their school by registering for the programme at PLPrimaryStars.com. Parents can also nominate their school via the Premier League Primary Stars website. This year’s application window is now open and runs through to 9 June.
“It’s been great to visit the school and see how Premier League Primary Stars is inspiring the kids to learn and be active,” said Schneiderlin. “The dodgeball PE lesson was really fun and helps to teach the kids to improve their communication and discipline. When you see the look on their faces it makes days like this really special.”
