Singapore's original Paleo eatery is still the place to go to for great food.
THE PLACE
Started by proprietor Michael Tan five years ago, Caveman Food lays claim to being the first Paleo diet-specific eatery in Singapore.
“I have been in the food business all my life,” says Michael. “I came across the concept of the Paleo diet years ago when I had friends with health problems, and as I researched about it, I realised that it’s really all about removing processed foods and refined sugars from your diet. I modified what I ate to a Paleo-styled diet, and discovered that I not only lost my excess weight, but actually felt more energetic throughout the day.”
Buoyed by this discovery, he set up Caveman Food as a simple takeout stall in Novena Square 2. As everything is cooked on site, he keeps the menu items simple for authenticity. It’s largely a takeaway outlet for executives and gym goers in the Novena vicinity, but there is a small, long bench that can accommodate dining in.
