Bayern Munich clinched its 25th Bundesliga title and is line for a double as its German Cup final against Borussia Dortmund is scheduled for May 21.

Robert Lewandowski struck twice as BayernMunich wrapped up a record fourth successive Bundesliga title with a 2-1 win over In-glostadt. Lewandowski’s first-half double — his 15th-minute opener followed by a 32nd-minute penalty — set Bayern on course for its 25th Bundesliga crown. And though Moritz Hartmann pulled one back before the break — also from the spot — the smaller of the two Bavaria sides was unable to find the leveller.

Despite crashing out of the Champions League, a title the fans really wanted, outgoing boss Pep Guardiola can still sign off with a double when Bayern takes on Borussia Dortmund in the German Cup final on May 21 in Berlin. It has been a very difficult few days for the Spaniard, who will join Manchester City in the summer.

He warned the club that a mole is “damaging the club” and claimed information had been repeatedly leaked during his three-year spell at the club with the aim of undermining his position. And his future employers might find themselves not playing Champions League next season after Manchester City drew 2-2 against Arsenal, meaning Manchester United can very well leapfrog it to the final CL spot.

With the league having been wrapped up, Borussia Dortmund stepped off the gas and slumped to a 1-0 defeat at Eintracht Frankfurt. But a bad news for the team was the injury to Ilkay Gundogan. The German midfielder dislocated his kneecap in training and the injury will rule him out of Euro 2016. This setback is the latest in a long list of injuries for Gundogan, who missed almost the entire 2013/14 season with a back injury that required spinal surgery.
