While this has been the best IPL season, there are a few things that need to be looked at to make it even better next year onwards.
There is no doubt that this year’s Indian Premier League has been the most nailbiting one ever. When was the last time that we had so many last over finishes where the game was poised for both teams to win? Of course human memory being short, the latest one is remembered more than the previous ones, but having said that, this year was truly awesome.
The manner in which the Chennai Super Kings has made a comeback to the IPL after being suspended for two years tells you how important it is to have a core team that can be bolstered by new talent. Chennai has been loyal to Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja, who have been stalwarts for the team and they have raised the level of their game every time it was needed for Chennai to win. There is also the support staff of Stephen Fleming and Mike Hussey, who, with their playing experience, guide the youngsters and prepare them for the tough battle on the day. The loyalty is not onesided as all the above mentioned have been loyal to Chennai and given everything to their team as if it’s their own home team.
