HEATHER Knight admitted England have lost belief after Australia inflicted their biggest-ever T20 defeat at Chelmsford in a win which secured them the women’s Ashes.
Australia went 10-2 up in the series after dominating proceedings on Friday to secure a comfortable 93-run victory and win the series outright. Meg Lanning was again at the heart of the cause, belting 17 fours and seven sixes in a blistering 133 from 63 balls as Australia made 226-3.
England were never in the hunt, losing wickets early and limping to 133-9 in reply to succumb to a record T20 defeat and their first ever loss at Chelmsford.
“We’re better than that. We just didn’t bowl well enough. It’s tough to take and hard to explain,” said Knight.
