Tonight, Jose Mourinho will take charge of his first home game as our Head Coach after being appointed in the role last Wednesday and Moussa Sissoko is determined to make it a winning start on home soil for the new man in charge.

And, while his focus is purely on the here and now, the French midfielder admits the events of last week, which saw the departure of Mauricio Pochettino after a five-and-a-half-year spell as manager, left him with a feeling of disappointment at the way things turned out.

The Argentine will always be fondly remembered by all those associated with Spurs after he steered us to new heights during his tenure, including challenges for the Premier League title, qualifying for the Champions League in each of the last four seasons as well as leading us to our first ever Champions League final earlier this year.

Moussa was brought to N17 by Mauricio in 2016 and, although the midfielder had tough beginnings, he ultimately thrived under his former manager and was one of our star performers in the run to June’s European Cup Final. Disappointment was his overriding emotion following Mauricio’s exit, especially as he reflected on the team’s below-par recent performances in the league but, in looking forward, he admits he is excited to see where the team can now go under the direction of Jose.

“We were all disappointed to hear the news,” our number 17 revealed. “Not one player likes that sort of situation where a manager leaves because that sometimes means we as players haven’t done enough on the pitch.
