Xiaomi has been selling their true wireless earphones internationally for quite some time and just like many of its other ecosystem products, this too had a considerable consumer interest. Now that its first Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 have reached the Indian shores, is it good enough to take on other true wireless earphones? We find out.
Apple AirPods’s design set a trend for many TWS products and it’s clear which product design Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 has been inspired from. However, taking inspiration is one thing and being called as ‘good knockoffs’ is another and Xiaomi has changed the TWS design to make it distinct.
Clad in a matte white finish, the Mi TWS adopts the same semi-in-ear design but compared to other similarly designed products in the market, the Xiaomi offering has a wider stem. The stem extends upwards that ensures better grip when removing from the case. Next is the case. It’s bigger than the competition but adheres to the same likeable matte white finish. The clean case is pocketable, has an LED light on the front, a button on the right and USB Type-C port for charging at the bottom.
Having a Xiaomi phone running MIUI 11 has its perks if you are using the Mi TWS. Pop open the case and you get a notification on the phone to connect to it. It’s that easy. However, if you have a different Android device or an iPhone, the pairing process is still simple, if not as effortless.
