Next-Gen Upgrade Sony PS5

The launch of Sony PS5 in India has got its fair share of drama. While Microsoft managed to line its next-gen gaming console release dates with the global launch, Sony delayed the release in India for more than two months. Now that the PS5 is here, the question is “was it worth the wait?”

Sony has gone with a different approach when it comes to PS5’s build and design. It looks drastically different from the PS4 generation with its curvy look, adopts a dual-tone colour with a pristine white finish removable side covers and the rest sandwiched in black. It certainly stands out and attracts attention compared to Microsoft’s Xbox Series X’s modest design. It’s also large and heavy (weighs about 4.5kg) but the good part now is that one can place the console horizontally or vertically. Sony bundles a base for stability where one can just slide the console vertically or horizontally, depending on the preference.

Sony has also given some thought to the dust buildup, which is pretty common for all gaming consoles. Just pull and slide side panels to reveal both sides of the console and clear the dust buildup. The console also comes with vacuum holes that let you suck out the dust with the ol’ trusty vac. This is not a foolproof solution to clearing up all the dust but certainly better than the PS4 family. The area also reveals an expansion slot for the M.2 SSD that can be used to expand PS5’s storage but as of now, the M.2 SSDs don’t work and will be activated after a future software update.
