Putting the sparkle back into your caravan that is looking a bit dated – with its sagging foam cushions, drab appointments, mustard-colored curtains, and dreary decals – is not as difficult as it seems. With a little spit and polish, some DIY, and a bit of outside help, you’ll have your caravan looking like the belle of the ball in no time at all.
New materials
An excellent way to create a light, airy, and modern-looking interior in your caravan is to recover the tired and dated looking cushions. It’s amazing what a difference this can make. When you remove the old covers from the cushions, be sure to check if the foam is still intact and offers good support. If it has lost its support or is sagging where Aunty Betty sits on your annual December holiday to the coast, it might be time to replace the entire cushion. Remember that lighter colors will always give the feeling of increased interior space. As much as your son – who may be into heavy metal music and have a penchant for black nail polish and nose piercings – would like the interior to be wall-to-wall black velour, do not succumb! Keep the interior light with fresh, yet subdued, colors. For ideas on which materials and colors work well together, visit a caravan dealer in your area and go online to sites such as Pinterest for inspiration.
