The traditional affair

From the décor to the outfits, this couple’s big day was a highly customised celebration

Gurbir Kaur Mahal and Guninderbir Singh Sandhu’s union is one millions of Indians can relate to. “We had an arranged marriage set up by common friends of our parents,” reveals the bride. The couple had a roka ceremony on the very first meeting. “Clearly, it was love at first sight! And ten days later on February 2, 2020, we got engaged in Amritsar at Taj Swarna.” They, however, decided to have a courtship of a year before the big day, “so that we could get the time to know each other better.”

THE VISION

“I clearly knew how I wanted my wedding to be. I had planned every detail of my wedding long before my Roka rather long before my parents started looking for Rishta . I am a perfectionist ( being a Virgo ) , hence did everything by myself be it deciding the invitation cards, the filling , the location and list goes on.
