The happy season can leave you broke but there are ways to avoid clashing over expenses
THERE’S no more exciting time than the festive season. Families from far away places are about to come once again and be home together which is a very rare occurrence during the year. But it’s also this time of festivities that family drama can erupt because of money. In most families, people can talk about everything with ease but when it comes to money things can get tense.
EVERYONE SHOULD MAKE A CONTRIBUTION
Financial Wellness expert Amanda Clayman points out that people feel uncomfortable to talk about money because they make it a ‘special’ talk and with that come a lot of expectations.
“The key is to not make it an intense, formal conversation and send the message that money is not a taboo subject,” she says.
As you are about to meet with your family this festive season, it is important that everyone involved has this conversation to avoid resentment and animosity.
