Actress Lily James has gone from Downton Abbey to the Greek Islands for the sequel to a much-loved musical classic
In the six short years since Lily James appeared as Lady Rose in Downton Abbey, the actress has made a variety of hit films and TV series including War and Peace, last year’s hit Baby Driver and Oscar-winning film, Darkest Hour.
In July, she’s set to star in this year’s much anticipated summer blockbuster, Mamma Mia – Here We Go Again, the sequel to the 2008 mega hit. Lily is taking on the role of a young Donna (famously portrayed by Meryl Streep) – and Cher plays her mum! Sadly, Lily never actually got the chance to meet either of the icons during filming in Croatia…
“They kept me away from all the big stars,” she laughs. “Knowing what a fan I become… just screaming and crying!”
Sooo… if she never got to meet Meryl, does that mean rumours of her character
Donna having passed away might be true?
