Sow The Seed

LET’S START AT THE VERY BEGINNING...

My niece took her kids to The Warehouse the other day to spend the $3 they each had saved. At the end of the shopping spree, which I suspect seriously outlasted their mother’s attention span, little Lochie (6) was missing in action, while Sophia (7) was chomping at the bit to get her chosen toy to the checkout.

Lochie was eventually found in the gardening department, where he had selected a packet of capsicum seeds, a packet of sweetcorn seeds and a potted polyanthus. His mother pointed out that the packets of seeds were $2 each and the polyanthus $1, so he was over budget, but he gleefully responded that the seeds were a two-for-one deal.

A great-nephew who is a gardener and frugal to boot? What’s not to love?
