READER REVIEWS
At the beginning, as the story delved into the women’s lives, I got a bit fed up with their negativity. Life seemed so dark and I just wanted to yell at them, “For goodness sake believe in yourself, stand up for yourself.” However, the interview scripts that were peppered throughout the story kept me intrigued and reading on. The story had a sudden twist part-way through and it continued to intrigue right to the end with yet another unforeseen twist.
It made me reflect on circumstances I’ve encountered years ago and ponder on how I reacted, and was this just how things were back then?
I felt more kindly towards the women by the end. The story left me with the unanswerable question – why?
