Heading to my 12-week pregnancy scan, my boyfriend Christopher, 24, and I were so excited to see our baby.

‘I wonder who bump will look like!’ I beamed, as the sonographer rubbed ultrasound gel on my tummy.

‘You baby is scrunched in a ball upside down,’ she said.

‘You’ll have to give me a jiggle!’

Jumping up and down on the spot, I wiggled my hips and hoped to get a glimpse of my little one.

‘Let’s try again,’ the sonographer said, guiding me back down to the couch.

But my bump was refusing to get a cute snap for us.

Even when we returned days later, our baby was still being as stubborn as ever.

Our 16-week private gender scan was no different.
