Safe to say, Fern Britton is living her best life right now. The TV presenter-turned-author has an idyllic home in Cornwall with her two daughters, and it’s clear the place Fern finds herself in couldn’t be further from the heartache she experienced last year.
So much so that, judging by some recent social-media interactions, Fern, 64, is ready to begin having fun again, starting with a holiday.
Woman understands Fern has her eye on sun, sea, and romance, with a source telling us, ‘Fern hasn’t been put off the idea of settling down again – the very opposite, in fact. She doesn’t know if the perfect man exists, but she’s definitely open to some fun times and would love to be whisked away.
‘What she’s been through lately has taught her that life is too short.’
Fern has been very honest about struggling through a difficult couple of years, saying, ‘It’s been hard, but there is life again. I have had a bad two or three years. Both of my parents died, my beloved cat died and, unfortunately, my marriage died.’
The former This Morning host split from her husband of 20 years, chef Phil Vickery, in 2020, saying at the time, ‘We simply needed to follow our own paths.’
But now that Fern has had time to process things, she’s looking towards a future where the world is her oyster.
