Much like some MasterChef contestants’ desserts, John Torode has a tough exterior, but once you get to know him he’s all gooey at the centre.

And actress Lisa Faulkner, 47, knows that better than anyone, having won over 53-year-old John’s heart after appearing on Celebrity MasterChef in 2010.

Despite not starting to date until four years later, the pair are now engaged and even have their own show together on ITV, John & Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen.

Here, the loved-up couple, with five children between them, open up about their relationship on and off-screen.

Hi Lisa and John! How’s the wedding planning going?

John: I wish we had time to do it.

Lisa: Yeah, we’ve got to do it. We keep saying we’re going to and then end up getting on with work.
