SAVE £133.22 A WEEK by making tiny lifestyle changes

When it comes to money, you can’t master what you don’t measure – if you don’t own your spending, it will own you. The eighth wonder of the world is compounding, so saving just £20 a day turns into £7,300 a year. Add the tax you have paid on top of that, and you save gross over £10,000 a year from small habit and convenience changes. Over 30 years, that’s £300,000.

It’s the small habits that compound to big savings. If you manage your money, you manage your life; and what you appreciate, appreciates. This saved money can go into investments, pay down debt or cover a nice holiday – whatever’s important to you.

1 Coffee

My favourite coffee is a medium skinny cappuccino with an extra shot from Costa. It is £3.45. I have two a day. That is £6.90, or £48.30 a week. Make your coffee at home, flask it up for the day, and you’ll save up to £30 a week.

2 Lunch

A chicken salad, watermelon and carrot sticks for lunch from M&S costs £7.95 in total. That’s £55.65 a week, for only one of three meals. Preparing meals at home could save you £25 a week just on lunches.
