100 DIFFERENT FORMATS
Producers are creating a whopping 100 different formats to cater for the ever-changing COVID-19 rules and stipulations.
A BBC source revealed, ‘Preparing for this year’s show is a huge headache. The goalposts keep moving, so the big decisions are being left to the last minute [to ensure] we’re as up to date as possible.
‘The slightest change to the rules could have a massive impact on how the show is filmed this year.’
SKELETON CREW
There will be a slimmed-down backstage crew working on the show, with around a quarter of the usual number.
‘In terms of people, everything is being scaled back dramatically. There will be less security as there’s no audience to control,’ the source said. ‘Anyone deemed non-essential is a goner.’
This means that everything is taking 10 times longer, so quick set changes will be tricky in live shows.
