Why plant a TREE?

Planting trees is an easy way to improve our environment and help prevent further climate change. A government pledge to plant trees across 75,000 acres by 2024 means there are numerous tree-planting drives going on. But it’s something we can do at home.

Whether you have a balcony, a patio or a garden, it will enhance your surroundings, give you shade, absorb pollution, and be a haven for wildlife.

There are around 28 million houses in the UK, so if each household planted one tree, it could make a real difference to our air, wildlife, health, environment – and our children’s lives.

How to plant a tree

  • Choose the right location and give your tree space – it will grow.

  • Dig a hole three times wider than the pot you buy it in, and the same depth.
