When Meghan Markle said “I do” to Prince Harry on May 19, 2018, the royal family’s future looked as sunny as it was on that historic day at Windsor Castle.
Not one of the two billion people watching the historic event could have predicted the fairytale would crumble in such spectacular fashion just 19 months later.
Last week, Harry, 35, and Meghan, 38, blindsided the Queen, Prince Charles and Prince William by announcing to the world via an extensive statement shared to their Instagram account, @SussexRoyal, they are not only “stepping down as senior royals”, but also planning to move to North America – most likely Canada.
