She’s already asked the Duchess of Cambridge to be her maid of honour when she walks down the aisle with Prince Harry, but now Meghan Markle has taken their special bond to the next level by having Kate plan her royal wedding!

With an engagement announcement said to be imminent as the actress filmed her last scenes for legal drama Suits last week, palace insiders tell Woman’s Day that the Californian beauty, 36, has turned to the pregnant duchess for advice on her nuptials – and an excited Kate, 35, is now heavily involved in organising the big day.

“Meghan was very worried about having a stiff royal wedding foisted on her by courtiers, with no opportunity for her to put her own stamp on things amid the hype and craziness of it all,” explains a well-placed royal source.

“Having become so close to Kate over the past few months, and knowing Kate’s history of party planning and the fact she’s been through the same thing herself, Meghan asked her to step in to be her unofficial wedding coordinator – a role Kate happily accepted. “She’s going to be the go-to person for all decisions and will be on hand to ensure Meghan’s wishes are honoured as much as possible, as well as helping to pick out the dress, assist Meghan in navigating royal family politics, and give her the emotional and moral support she needs.”
