Lacey Vs Luke: Bitter Marriage Meltdown

Married at First Sight NZ’s lovable larrikin Luke Cederman was hopeful he’d found “the one” in beauty Lacey Swanepoel. But eight days after tying the knot, an explosive row seems to have rocked their once-promising marriage beyond repair.

Things reached fever-pitch last week when Lacey probed her bewildered hubby over accusations the fledgling comic was only on the Three show to boost his profile. It’s a rumour that her groom vehemently denies and when he tried to defend himself, viewers watched aghast as his furious, sharptongued bride refused to hear him out.

But 29-year-old Lacey is unapologetic, telling Woman’s Day, “I’m quite a private person and I told him the cocktail party was not the place to have that kind of conversation.

“I am totally happy with the way that I carried myself and stand by everything I said. There were moments when Luke was almost a little aggressive and I stood up for myself. I hate being caught off guard and hate being lied to. This experience is such a serious one that I don’t think you get to take the piss out of it and if you do, then deal with my wrath.”

The stunning consultant says she had raised her concerns about Luke’s motivation before bailing on their honeymoon two days early. She reveals that the embattled pair never even exchanged numbers during their first week together.
