From the pictures posted on social media, you’d think Reese Witherspoon absolutely nailed a memorable 17th birthday for her beloved middle child, Deacon Phillippe.

The busy mum-of-three even invited her ex, Deacon’s dad Ryan Phillippe, along for the occasion, with the trio playing happy blended families among their son’s mates. But behind the scenes, there’s tension brewing between the former couple’s daughter Ava, 21, and her actor dad, amid ongoing rumours she can’t bear to be in the same room as him.

According to several insiders, Reese’s mini-me has all but “cut off” her 46-year-old dad, as countless reports claim he has a penchant for hitting on women far too close to Ava’s age range for her comfort.

Insiders say she began to distance herself from Ryan after hearing rumours about his dating life and has since unfollowed him on Instagram.

“He’s notorious for it,” says a source. “Ava is a very level-headed young woman and she is absolutely not interested in spending time with Ryan if he chooses to behave this way.

“She feels sorry for him, but has made it clear she would be a lot happier if he would act his age.”
