The Republic Day parade this time was a rather special one. The parade which has always been the most sought-after event on the calendar was dominated by women from various walks of life. This was primarily because the 75th Republic Day was dedicated to ‘Nari Shakti’ or women empowerment. But there was something special brewing in the background.
Auto Today collaborated with Mahindra Auto to play its part in honouring women and thus was born the concept of ‘Drivers of Change’. The initiative is dedicated to the untold stories of women who have emerged as inspiring role models, instilling a spirit of perseverance and aspiration in others. Their journeys and achievements serve as a beacon, guiding and motivating a new generation to break barriers and forge their paths of success and innovation. The team came up with a list of hundreds of women who have done stellar work in their fields and then boiled it down to 12 women who were exemplary examples of trailblazers.
On the eve of India’s 75th Republic Day, a convoy of Mahindra XUV700s driven by team Auto Today was flagged off from the Mahindra headquarters in Mumbai. The idea was to embark on a 10,000km pan-India drive where the team would reach each of the short listed women at their workplaces. These 12 women then for us were the “Drivers of Change.”
