Close on the heels of grabbing the tag of world's third largest car maker, Hyundai Motor Corporation has achieved a significant milestone of producing over one million units annually in India for the first time ever. And it has taken the company 25 years of meticulous planning and work to achieve this.
The South Korean Chaebol is only the second automaker to reach an annual milestone of one million units after Suzuki Motor Corporation underscoring the strong acceptance for the brand in a highly competitive market - that led to some big names exiting the space in recent years.
This milestone has been made possible due to incremental production of about 3.4-3.5 lakh units coming from Kia in the country, which has strongly established itself as a formidable SUV player in the market.
On the other hand, Hyundai Motor India has been able to ride the SUV wave and cater to the upgraders space handsomely over the last decade or so.
