The long-awaited debut of Audi and Porsche's new PPE EV platform comes early next year when Audi launches the Q6 E-tron. It's the sister car to Porsche's keenly anticipated electric Macan and a key remaining piece of Audi's electric SUV puzzle, slotting in logically between Qs 4 and 8.

The Q6 E-tron 55 here uses an asynchronous motor at the front and a permanent magnet synchronous unit at the rear for 'optimum efficiency' and a combined 396bhp. Between the axles is a circa-100kWh battery pack, equipped with 800V hardware (touted as among the PPE's most revolutionary features) for charging at speeds of up to 270kW, where infrastructure permits.
