SCREEN TEST: BOMBS AWAY!

Reviewing a new movie traditionally involves offering at least a vague plot synopsis. That may be tricky here. Because Fast X – the 10th instalment in the apparently indestructible Fast and Furious franchise – is the film that asks: who needs plot when you have exploding cars instead?
As best I can summarise. A lot of action occurs, very loudly and very quickly. Car chases, fighting, explosions, frequently all at the same time. CGI abounds. Physics is violated. A gorgeous Alfa 2000 GTV doesn’t get nearly enough screen time. A cast of unnecessarily muscular men and women punch each other in the faces, many times. Bombs. There are many bombs.
