IN SEASON SEVEN, THE Frenchman Jean-Eric Vergne made his first appearance on the Formula E podium since Rome and he accomplished it in fine fashion to get back to winning ways. On lap 15, after the Jaguars had eliminated one another two laps earlier, Vergne made his way to the head of the field, passing Buemi at the hairpin.
At that time, Sacha Fenestraz, who was running in fourth place, was attacked by Sam Bird from the dirty side of the track (Nissan). In a race where a podium finish for Jaguar looked possible, the British driver couldn't stop his I-TYPE 6 in time and collided with his teammate, Mitch Evans, who was running third at the time. This caused the Kiwi's car to spin, sending both of them into retirement and knocking the unlucky Fenestraz down the order with them.
