Gaining prominence, especially after the pandemic, the Indian hyper-local industry is growing at an unprecedented pace. Augmented by the necessity to maintain isolation and distance, hyper-local is what helped people stay connected, access essential and nonessential goods and eased lives for a majority of people, This was especially true for the metro cities and now the trend is taking a route to tier 2 cities as well. The Covid crisis impacted lives around the globe pushing us to re-look at our delivery systems and re-organise the way the commerce market operates. With multiple lockdowns, border closures, and restricted movement, consumers found solace in hyper-local delivery. Recognising the huge potential of this segment, businesses are now investing heavily in this industry and ensuring that logistics streamlines hyper-local.
Even the consumer today expects swift and convenient deliveries. Used to rapid doorstep deliveries, at their chosen time and more often than not, in the shortest period possible. Consumers are now accustomed to hyper-local for not just groceries and other lifestyle products but also healthcare products. In cognisance of the same, an array of hyper-local delivery apps has also taken the nation by storm. The adoption of the hyper-local model in our daily lives has now become the need of the hour. Hyper-local is Industry agnostic and therefore has wide application. This includes pharmaceuticals, food, groceries, fashion and lifestyle etc. Industry giants like Zomato, Swiggy, Dunzo etc have pioneered this sector. Now a lot of startups are also experimenting and adopting hyper-local modules.
