Get a taste of the secret sauce behind drift cars, track builds and a pair of fast wheels in general

BUILD, DRIVE, BREAK, REPEAT

All of us gearheads have varying interests as far as custom builds go. You would either want a beast that does a quarter-mile in the blink of an eye or a rolling piece of art, sometimes even both! With Bad Boi Drifts, it is very much function over form most of the time, and for good reason too, because if one is to be sending themselves sideways it had better be a full send.

Having found myself with an invitation to the first edition of the Festival of Speed, organised at Raymond race track by Bad Boi Drifts and BND Motorsport, I was in for three days of pure gasoline-fueled madness. Now, although I may find myself on two wheels more often than four, it is safe to say that I do enjoy my fair share of four-wheeled fun as often as I can. This being such an occasion, I made sure to make the most of it.

Race Wars

The Race Wars Time Attack event by BND Motorsport was a timed autocross challenge in which drivers from across the country came to race their stock as well as modified cars. Right from day one, there was a plethora of funky-looking race-spec cars lined up to take a shot at setting the fastest lap time in their respective categories. In the mix were souped-up, Hotwheel-esque cars, along with a few innocent-looking sleepers.

Out of the few builds that caught my eye though, one was a neat Honda Civic with an inline-four Accord engine, race-tuned suspension, upgraded BMC air filter with a headlamp-port intake and stripped down for weight reduction wherever possible.
