The business travel market is a segment that refers to people who travel mainly for business reasons. The modern business or corporate traveller segment encapsulates people from different job positions as well as varied age groups. Their demographics differ even though the main purpose of their trip is business; some travel to attend a quick business meeting, while others for three-day corporate conferences or a week-long company retreat.
Not all business travellers have the same agenda or expectations from their trips. For some, it's strictly business with busy schedules and little time to explore the destination, while others try to make the most of corporate travel by either splurging a bit on food and beverage or combining it with pleasure. Some of the more popular categories of travellers are:
BLEISURE TRAVELLERS
Bleisure travel is a seamless amalgamation of business and leisure travel. Before the pandemic, over 60 per cent approximately of business trips included a leisure portion. Usually, bleisure travellers extend the duration of their trip to visit popular tourist attractions and experience the local culture. This trend is once again picking and bleisure travellers want immersive experiences when they visit a destination.
LUXURIOUS BUSINESS TRAVELLERS
Luxury business travellers are ones who usually hold a high position in a company. Since their expenses are all paid for, they have higher expectations and are interested in amenities like hotel rooms with modern furnishing and a five-star restaurant. While their demands might be more difficult to meet, hotels that manage to appeal to this group of travellers will win them over as their most loyal guests.
