The 2021 UNESCO Science Report released on June 11 highlights the varying quality of education in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects in the country. Though employability has increased from 34% in 2014 to almost 47% in 2019, it also means that one out of two graduates is still not employable. It is imperative therefore for universities and educational institutions to relook at their education models and align learning with the skillsets that the future world of work demands.
