Married At First Sight’s Thomas Hartley had the nation talking from day one of this year’s jaw-dropping series.
From the moment he met his husband Adrian Sanderson at the altar to their break-up at the last commitment ceremony, he was never one to shy away from expressing his opinions – no matter who it offended. But away from his sassy persona, Thomas, 31, also showed his emotional side – especially when it seemed that he and Adrian were growing closer as a couple.
Here, Thomas tells new about life after the show and opens up about the bullying that led to him having cosmetic surgery…
Hi Thomas! So, tell us, are you on good terms with Adrian?
No, not really, but I’ve got no animosity towards him. I think he’s wonderful, but we just can’t seem to get our communication together. We are like a little married old couple. We’ll have a little falling out every now and then, and then before you know it, we’re best mates again. We’re exactly like what you see on the TV. We love hard, and then we fall out for the week, and then we’re best friends.
How did you feel watching yourself on TV?
Insane. It felt insane. I was just like, “Oh, my God!” and then you think, “Do I actually look like that?” You feel every single emotion you didn’t think you had. You pick yourself apart. But it’s weird how quickly you get used to seeing yourself on telly.
