Royal surprise! The 57-year-old already knew she had aristocratic roots when she appeared on NBC’s Who Do You Think You Are? Her father’s father had married into Italian nobility. But as the Castle for Christmas star followed her family tree further back, she discovered the Italian branch had actually originated in France, and included one Christine Marie, Madame Royale, who was born in 1606 in the Palais du Louvre. Her father was King Henry IV, founder of the Bourbon dynasty — making Brooke a cousin of King Louis XIV! Brooke took her lofty roots in stride, saying she was “an amalgamation of all these people and all of these genes and all of these experiences.”
