BE CURIOUS

Learning new skills is something that we take for granted as kids, but it can also be a lifelong journey. And while you may or may not have loved your time in the classroom, education can also be something that you come to enjoy later in life.

Aliza Knox, workplace expert and author of Don’t Quit Your Day Job, says learning new skills can be beneficial for anyone with a strong sense of curiosity.

“Continued learning is not only interesting, but is a key part of a growth mindset and building stamina,” she explains. “Several studies, including one at the Mayo Clinic, have found that lifelong learning is correlated with later onset of age-related mental decline.”

One of the best things about learning is that the possibilities are endless. For some people, it could mean training for a new job or upskilling for a profession that you already work in. Others might embrace learning as an opportunity to train for a new hobby, a side hustle or simply for the fun of it.
