A year ago, Gisele Bündchen referred to her divorce from former NFL star Tom Brady as "the death of my dream" in an interview with Vanity Fair. "It's tough because you imagine your life was going to be a certain way, and you did everything you could, you know?" she said in March 2023, months after the pair announced that they had "amicably" finalised their divorce in October 2022. "I believed in fairy tales when I was a kid... You give 100 per cent of yourself, and it's heartbreaking when it doesn't end up the way you hoped for and worked for, but you can only do your part."

Reflecting on those comments in a new TV interview released on March 7, the supermodel, 43, became emotional when speaking to journalist Robin Roberts.

"It's definitely a time of transition that had to take place," a teary-eyed Bündchen said, explaining that it wasn't something she wished for but that "sometimes, in life, things happen".
