Harry & Meghan: ROCK THE PALACE

To an outsider, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Netflix debut appeared fairly benign at first. It featured gorgeous snaps from the family’s personal album, adorable footage of their children – Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1 – and the couple’s detailed recollection of how they met over Instagram and fell in love within days under a starfilled Botswana sky. But make no mistake, it has rocked palace rafters from Balmoral to Buckingham Palace.

“Meghan and Harry may have thrown cute anecdotes into this docuseries, but its main purpose is clearly to bring down not only the monarchy – meaning their family – but the wider Commonwealth itself,” says a source. “Sure, there were barbed attacks toward the Prince and Princess of Wales, but the most concerning thing to King Charles was the documentary’s claim the Commonwealth is basically a rebadged British Empire, inferring that everything the Queen worked so hard for throughout her life was actually just hidden racism.”

As the world reacts to Harry, 38, and 41-year-old Meghan’s televised passion project, the palace cogs are turning rapidly.

“It was always suspected, but is now evident, that the Sussexes are intent on tearing down this 1000-year-old institution,” says a weary palace insider. “Which is a shame because they could have done so much good from the inside.”
