Habits are the building blocks of our lives.
MAKE OR BREAK Dr Gina Cleo shares how to create new habits that will actually stick

They shape the way we think, act and respond to the world around us. Whether they’re the morning routine that kickstarts our day or the unconscious decisions we make throughout our waking hours, habits have a profound impact on our lives. What we do habitually makes up much of what we do entirely. In fact, it’s estimated that up to 70 per cent of our waking behaviour is made up of habitual behaviour. We are creatures of habit, and most of the time our action dial is turned towards autopilot. Research shows that habits are the only proven method for achieving long-term success with behavioural goals. So having healthy habits that are aligned with our values and goals can shape our life in the way we desire.

But I won’t sugarcoat it – while habits can be incredibly powerful, they can also be difficult to change. Whether it’s breaking an old habit or forming a new one, the process of habit change can be challenging, but the rewards can be immense.

2. CHOOSE A SIMPLE ACTION
