Rubbing shoulders with Hollywood heavyweights like Margot Robbie and Riley Keough at Variety magazine’s Power of Women gala, Meghan Markle looked resplendent in a beige one-shouldered dress from Proenza Schouler as she walked the welcome carpet. Flashing a megawatt grin at reporters while enjoying being back in the spotlight, the Duchess of Sussex hinted that she had a lot to smile about.

After a shaky start to her post-royal life with Spotify, Netflix is fully throwing its support behind Meghan as she makes the transition to showrunner. In fact the streaming giant is so confident that they secured her the rights to Carley Fortune’s bestselling novel, Meet Me at the Lake.

“[I’m working on] things that make people feel – I was going to say things that make people feel good, but it’s more than that,” the 42-year-old told Variety. “Things that make people feel something, right? And a sense of community. I can’t wait until we can announce them. I’m just really proud of what we’re creating.”
