A Life Less ORDINARY

WHAT LIES AT THE CORE OF RANVEER SINGH? WHAT MAKES HIM TICK? WHAT FUELS HIM? THE ANSWERS LIE IN THIS UNFILTERED, VULNERABLE AND HONEST CONVERSATION.
AMBIKA MUTTOO
A Life Less ORDINARY

It's supposed to be winter in Mumbai, but here we are on what could easily pass off for a hot summer day, in the last week of December. Sunlight darts in and out, playing with the planes of Ranveer Singh's angular face, as he sits in the backseat of a car that is winding through the city. A Zoom video call opens a window on his phone that has quite the vantage point to his mobile expressions. He's dressed simply; a black-and-white houndstooth flat cap complements his black T-shirt, and a silvery chain glints off his neck. But, even with the soothing effect of the afternoon rays, the familiar soundtrack of a city in motion, and his easy-going demeanour, you can't deny the sheer force of his presence. Superstar. Performer. Actor. Fashion icon. Multi-hyphenate. He's larger than life, on billboards, screens, magazine covers, newspapers and on your feeds, daily. How could he not be, given who he is, with a blazing trajectory built over 12 years in the industry, and how ubiquitous he is in the mass consciousness? Everyone has an opinion about him - he's beloved, yet polarising, in keeping with a celebrity of that stature. However, this is not a story about that guy. This is not a critique of his movies. There isn't a single question about his marriage to Deepika Padukone. This is, quite simply, a story about a man. The man.
