It's the end of an era... After 17 years, much-loved comedy Gavin Stacey wraps up for good with an emotional feature-length finale on BBC1 on Christmas Day.
Five years after her cliffhanger proposal to Smithy at the end of the 2019 Christmas special, it seems Nessa's now moved up in the world from Nessa's Slots with a new business venture, while Neil the Baby is all grown up and about to begin an apprenticeship with his dad. But did Smithy say yes?
"The proposal will always be one of my favourite Nessa moments. It's one of the very few times we've seen her vulnerable, says Ruth Jones, 58, who plays Nessa and co-wrote the hit series with James Corden, who appears as Smithy.
