History will be made before our eyes on Saturday as the nation hangs up the bunting to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III in Westminster Abbey.
As part of BBC1’s coverage, Huw Edwards will commentate on Saturday’s ceremony, while Kirsty Young will anchor proceedings from a studio on location near Buckingham Palace. Here’s our guide to what to see and when on the big day...
Early morning The 2,000 guests will start to gather at the Abbey – 6,000 less than at the late Queen’s coronation. Some 850 members of the public who help charities or their communities are also invited.
Mid morning The King and Queen Camilla will leave Buckingham Palace in the Diamond Jubilee State Coach to travel 1.3 miles to Westminster Abbey.
