Season two of infectiously feel-good comedy drama Ted Lasso ended on a bittersweet note, as London football club AFC Richmond secured promotion to the top flight, only for their upbeat, fish-out-of-water American coach Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis) to lose his right- hand man Nate Shelley (Nick Mohammed) to Premier League rivals West Ham United.
Worse still for the Richmond team, Nate’s new boss was Rupert Mannion (Anthony Head), the philandering ex-husband of Richmond owner Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham).
