During April 1993, US authorities conducted a 51-day siege at a compound belonging to the Branch Davidians religious sect, led by self- proclaimed son of God David Koresh.

The stand-off in Waco, Texas, was watched intensely by the world’s media and ended in a deadly, unexplained fire. In all, 86 people were killed, including four federal agents. The Waco siege has gone down in history as one of America’s most controversial tragedies, but almost a third of Koresh’s followers were Brits.

Now, a two-part ITVX documentary tells the story of Waco through the eyes of the British cult members, many of whom were brainwashed by Koresh in 1988 when he came to the UK searching for recruits.
