The Larkins
Bucolic period drama The Larkins, starring Joanna Scanlan and Bradley Walsh as warmhearted 1950s country couple Ma and Pop, returns to our screens this week with a welcome blast of nostalgia and escapism.
As we rejoin the action, there's a cloud on the usually sunny horizon in the form of troublesome London newcomers the Jerebohms Morgana Robinson and Julian Rhind-Tutt), who buy and renovate a dilapidated manor house but become the bane of village life.
Nicknamed Pinkie because of her love of pink clothes, posh city type Mrs Jerebohm forces her reluctant husband to buy Bluff Court, at an inflated price, from a delighted Pop.
‘Pinkie is an absolute git!’ laughs Robinson, who recently starred opposite Dylan Moran in his BBC comedy drama Stuck. On the surface, shes charming and effusive but the more you get to know her, the darker it gets, and she turns out to be an absolute rotter’
