Rebekah Vardy: Jehovah’s Witnesses and Me
Tuesday, 10pm, C4
Rebekah Vardy could be forgiven for wanting to stay out of the public eye following the humiliating conclusion to the ‘Wagatha Christie’ saga earlier this year, which saw the wife of Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy lose her libel action against fellow ‘WAG’ Coleen Rooney.
But rather than keeping a low profile, the 41-year-old has decided to go public about her troubled childhood in a new C4 documentary about her upbringing as a Jehovah’s Witness.
Vardy explores her early experiences in the religious community and how they have affected her. She also meets others who have left that life behind, talks to people at the forefront of the UK movement, and hears from a former member who has a wealth of secret documents that shine a light on the inner workings of the organisation.
