LIVE FOOTBALL
Sat & Sun, BBC1 & ITV1

With four teams outside the topflight reaching the FA Cup quarterfinals, the last eight has a fresh feel to it this season – with League Two’s Grimsby Town capturing fans’ imaginations by becoming the first side in Cup history to defeat five higher- division teams.

With action across the weekend, we look ahead to all four ties…

Manchester City v Burnley
Sat, kick-off 5.45pm, BBC1

Burnley boss Vincent Kompany returns to the club where he spent 11 seasons, eight of which he served as captain, winning 10 major trophies, including two FA Cups. A goal from Wales’ Connor Roberts against Fleetwood Town in the fifth round booked the Championship high-fliers a short trip to the Etihad while City’s goal machine Erling Haaland was an unused sub in their 3-0 win at Bristol City as Phil Foden netted twice. It’s the Clarets’ first time in the last eight for 20 years.

Manchester United v Fulham
Sunday, kick-off 4.30pm, ITV1

EFL Cup winners Manchester United defeated West Ham 3-1 in the fifth round to set up the last eight’s only all-Premier League tie. Marco Silva’s Fulham, who have reached the quarter-finals for the first time since 2010, lost 2-1 at Craven Cottage in November when United’s teenage striker Alejandro Garnacho scored a stoppage-time winner.
