After his adventure across Iceland last year, Alexander Armstrong was thrilled when Channel 5 asked him to make another travelogue, especially as he already had the perfect destination in mind: South Korea.

Famed for its cultural exports such as K-pop and hit Netflix drama Squid Game, South Korea is now one of the most-influential countries in the world, and the Pointless host is keen to discover more about its rich heritage.

Here, in an exclusive interview, Alexander, 52, tells TV Times all about his three-part journey, which begins this week in the capital city of Seoul…

Why did South Korea appeal to you?
